Rescue and Rehabilitation

Finding Happy Homes for Rehabilitated Animals

Once we have rescued, treated and helped an animal to recover, our challenge is find and settle the animal into a permanent home. Our volunteers work very hard to match 60 rehabilitated animals every three months with suitable humans in loving homes.

The adoption team works closely with our education team which is in schools and communities every day teaching proper care of animals and changing mind-sets to bring sustainable change for the better.

We are always in real need of foster homes, often for helpless little creatures that need short-term special care and attention while we find their permanent homes. OIPA does not support animal shelters which may be crowded and havens for disease.

We are always seeking adoptive homes for the many animals we rescue every day that deserve better lives.

Foster or Adopt from OIPA: Please contact info@oipacm.org or (+237) 670706757 if you have a place in your heart and home to foster or adopt an animal in need. And please consider donating to support our animal adoption program. Every animal that is adopted is one that has not died and is out of danger.

Fundraise for OIPA Cameroon

Fundraising at home is a great way to support OIPA and raise much needed funds to help animals in Bali. There are many fun ways you can support OIPA from afar.

You can easily run an event or activity in your local community. It doesn’t have to be complicated. It could be as simple as asking local businesses to place a collection box, or even fundraising at school.

Sterilisation

Through Spay / Neuter Sterilisation

OIPA Cameroon supports humane management of Cameroon’s cat and dog populations to achieve levels at which all dogs and cats can be adequately fed and cared for, free from suffering. Many unwanted dogs are poisoned, shot, abused, left without food and water or are dumped and left to die. Many end up with malnutrition and disease or injury and suffer painful deaths. OIPA supports spay / neuter sterilisation for 60-70% of dogs in an area. OIPA views culling, mainly through poisoning and shooting in Bali, as cruel, unnecessary and harmful to wider immunity. OIPA Cameroon offers free spay / neuter services in which all sterilised animals are vaccinated and treated against disease. Importantly, this process increases the population of immunised animals and reduces prevalence of disease such as rabies. Help Keep it Humane: Our humane population control or sterilisation program is heavily supported by people like you but we always need help with the program, which is quite expensive.
